The Ogun State Police Command has declared controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, wanted for his involvement in a violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties.
On February 5, 2025, officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. The officials, identified as Onabanjo Abidemi, Raymond Lateef, and Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar3. When they requested the approved building plan, Portable’s father informed them that his son was unavailable.
Moments later, Portable arrived at the scene armed with a firearm and accompanied by nine thugs. They attacked the unarmed officials, who sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Nine of Portable’s accomplices were arrested, but Portable fled the scene and has since gone into hiding. The Ogun State Police Command sent multiple invitations requesting his presence at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, all of which he ignored without cause or legal representation. As a result, the police obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted.
The police have urged members of the public to assist in locating Portable by providing any valuable information that could lead to his arrest. They also warned that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect would face legal consequences.
In response to the arrest warrant, Portable denied the allegations against him and claimed that the warrant was meant to attack him. He pleaded for forgiveness from the Ogun State government, stating that he was under spiritual attack and facing various health issues.
